About the Department of Vocational Education and Technology

In October 2016, in the context of innovative transformations in the field of education management, a number of organizational changes took place at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, which resulted in the creation (merger) of modern departments and structural units, including the Department of Vocational Education, Labor Training and Technologies.

Before the merger in 2017, the departments existed separately as the Department of Labor Training and Technologies, as well as the Department of Vocational Education.

The Department of Labor Training and Technologies dates back to October 13, 1960, when, by order No. 179, the Department of General Technical Disciplines was established at the Berdyansk State Pedagogical Institute, which included the following specialties: mechanical engineering with auto-tractor practicum, materials technology with practicum in training workshops, descriptive geometry and drawing, and technical mechanics.

On July 2, 1975, the Department of General Technical Disciplines began to operate as part of the Faculty of Training of Teachers of General Technical Disciplines and Labor. At the same faculty in July 1978, the Department of Labor Training and Drawing was created on the basis of the Department of General Technical Disciplines.

By order No. 376 of November 15, 1990, the Department of Labor Training and Drawing was renamed the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of General Technical Disciplines and Labor Training.

By order No. 124 of September 27, 1991, the Department of Vocational Training and Graphics and the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of General Technical Disciplines and Labor Training were created on the basis of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of General Technical Disciplines and Labor Training.

September 18, 1997 signed an order to merge the Department of Pedagogy and Methods of Labor and Economic Training and the Department of Mechanical Engineering into the Department of Professional Pedagogy and Mechanical Engineering.

In July 1998, Order No. 137 was issued to create two departments on the basis of the Department of Professional Pedagogy and Mechanical Engineering:

  1. Professional Pedagogy and Methods of Labor Training,
  2. Mechanical Engineering and Service Work.

On December 8, 2000, a single Department of General Technical Training was created on the basis of the Departments of Professional Training and Graphics and Mechanical Engineering and Service Work.

On May 21, 2001, Order No. 206 canceled the Order of December 8, 2000 “On the Reorganization of Departments”: Department of Mechanical Engineering and Service Work; Department of Professional Training and Graphics.

By Order No. 4 dated 01.10.2008 the Department of Professional Training and Graphics was renamed the Department of Professional Training, Engineering and Computer Graphics.

On 12.06.2012, by order No. 106 “On optimization of the structure of the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Technological Education”, the Department of Professional Training, Engineering and Computer Graphics and the Department of Mechanical Science and Methods of Teaching Technological Disciplines were liquidated and the Department of Technical Disciplines was created.

By order No. 122 dated 01.09.2016 “On reorganization of structural units”, the Department of Technical Disciplines was liquidated and the Department of Labor Training and Technologies was created.

On 22.06.2017, by order No. 68 “On reorganization of structural units”, the Department of Labor Training and Technologies and the Department of Vocational Education were liquidated and the Department of Vocational Education, Labor Training and Technologies was created.
